Cancellation Policy

We understand that things change and sometimes commitments need to be repriortized. If you need to cancel your registration, please let us know as soon as you can. If you cancel up to 1 week in advance, there is a 10% cancellation fee, the remainder will be refunded by e-transfer. Within 1 week of the event, 50% will be refunded; within 24 hours of the event, no refund. 

Yoga for Anxiety with Elisabeth

In my experience, I’ve noticed over and over the capacity of yoga to bring me fully into the present moment, so that my body and mind begin to calm. In these workshops we’ll explore yoga practices that will calm the nervous system and will support you in managing anxiety.

Yoga can effectively reduce stress and anxiety by combining breathing exercises (pranayama) and mindful movement. Asana (yoga poses) will include entle movement and restoratvie poses that promote relaxation and grounding. Yoga has been shown to trigger the body’s ability to calm.

No previous yoga expereince is necessary. The practices are gentle and accessible to everyone.

What to bring: yoga mat, blanket, cushion and a reusable container for water or tea.
Bolsters and blocks are available at the studio, as are some extra yoga mats.

MEDITATION RETREAT DAY: MEETING OURSELVES AND THE WORLD WITH STEADINESS

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 9TH, 10AM – 4PM
ST. BRIGID’S VILLA, IGNATIUS JESUIT CENTRE, GUELPH

Meditation is a way of coming home to ourselves, to reconnect with what it is to live in this human body. On a day-long retreat we are briefly free of the roles and responsibilities we have in daily life. The support of sangha, walking and mindful movement, in a way that is welcoming to all, including those who have never attended a day-long. Everyone is encouraged to practice in a way that feels supportive. The schedule will include a 90 minute lunch period, to enjoy mindfully eating, with time to walk the trails, or rest in the retreat centre.

$90 plus Dana (donation), includes a simple catered lunch. A sliding scale is available so that no one is excluded.

Rest and relaxation have a deep rejuvenating power and are needed now more than ever. By using props to support the body, the poses can be held for longer periods, allowing the awareness and breath to move deeply inside. As the body progressively relaxes, there is an opportunity for layers of stress and tension to melt away and healing and renewal to take place. For our online classes please have on hand a bolster (or 2 large cushions), 2 blankets, a yoga strap or scarf, a small hand towel, and option for an eye pillow, mask, or eye covering. Suitable for all levels of practitioners.
